Beginners Level

Spanish/French/German/Polish/Brazilian Portuguese/Chinese Mandarin/Italian

Language lessons range from conversational English hints to worldly lingo to prepare intrepid travellers, while the Waterloo location keeps students on their toes in central London.

Budding linguists can choose between the disciplines of Spanish, French, Chinese Mandarin, German, Italian or Brazilian Portuguese. The 120-minute lessons strive to see complete beginners transformed into comfortable employers of vocabulary and grammar, with a firm handle on reading and writing as well as functional chitter chatter. The courses focus on the lingua franca of realistic situations, helping students have the confidence to ask for directions, establish cross-cultural acquaintances, and acquire a taste for local cuisines.

Does it matter if you miss a class?

The Academy expects all students to keep good attendance. Students will gain most from their course if they attend every session. Missing a class or lateness can make it hard to take part fully.
