Next Dental Nursing NEBDN course in September 2013, registration lines are now open.

This course is designed for those who wish to study Polish language to broad the knowledge, achieving up to an advanced level. The syllabus aims to provide useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials.

As well as encouraging participants to practise the language to help build confidence and develop fluency, the course will also focus on aspects of grammar and writing skills. The actual programme content will be determined by the level, and to some extent the interests of the group as a whole.

The course designed for those who want to learn Polish language to expand knowledge of the language and culture.

The syllabus aims to provide useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials.

The Polish language course are focused on practical functional language. Students are encouraged to practice the target language in a varied option of everyday life topics. The courses focus on the 4 abilities or skills of a learner: writing, reading, listening and speaking. Learning is set in appropriate and realistic setting.

Beginners Level:

What will you learn?

  • Introducing yourself and greeting others
  • Talking about where you are from
  • Talking about  your work/ occupation
  • Numbers from 1-100
  • Telling the time
  • Talk about daily routine and free time activities
  • Make introductions
  • Invite someone out and accept

Beginners Plus Level

What will you learn?

1- Restaurant (2) – How to book a table in a restaurant and order a 3 course meal;

2- Book accommodation in a hotel ( types of accommodation /stay);
3- Hotel room furniture and facilities;
4- House furniture;
5- Make tourism enquiries when visiting a new place;
6- Ask for and give directions;
7- Shopping for food;
8- Phone calls – how to answer a phone call and leave a message in the target language;
9- Talk about likes and dislikes( traveling/hobbies/everyday life/food/beverages);
10- Numbers from 100 – 1000;
11- Telling the time and dates.


The beginners Plus is for you if you have done the Beginners level at LWA or equivalent (20-25 hours of tuition).

How you will learn?

The course covers the four skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing), with emphasis on speaking and correct pronunciation.

During the course there will be opportunities for you and your tutor to monitor your achievements through activities including questions & answers, group discussion, pair and group work, pronunciation drills, role-plays and listening and written activities.

A diversity of learning materials is used, from textbooks to websites. Learners are given homework tasks and also a list of additional resources that can help them to give focus to their independent study.

How will you know about your progress?
During the course there will be opportunities for you and your tutor to monitor your achievements through activities including questions & answers, group discussion, pair and group work, pronunciation drills, role-plays and listening and written activities.
