Some people believe you don’t need prior training to become a successful airline cabin crew member. While it’s true that airlines provide their own training as part of the interview and assessment process, our 15 years of experience at London Waterloo Academy tells a very different story.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed many aspiring cabin crew members who had applied repeatedly to various airlines, with no success. Often, they came to us feeling frustrated, confused, and unsure why their applications were continually being rejected. However, after completing our Airline Cabin Crew Training Course, many of these same individuals finally succeeded — and secured their dream jobs.
So, what changed?
The airline industry is dynamic and constantly evolving. Recruitment processes are no exception — they change not just annually, but sometimes monthly or even weekly. What worked last year may no longer be sufficient. This is where professional training can make all the difference.
Another key reason many candidates struggle is simply a lack of awareness regarding the visual and aesthetic standards airlines expect — including grooming, presentation, and overall appearance. On top of this, many applicants are unfamiliar with what a cabin crew CV should include, or how to tailor it to stand out in such a highly competitive industry.
And while it’s true that airlines provide their own training during the recruitment process, this training is often intensive and followed by exams. This is where many unprepared candidates fail. Without a clear understanding of what to expect — or the confidence built through proper training — it’s easy for nerves to take over and derail your chances.
At London Waterloo Academy, our course offers much more than just an introduction to life as a flight attendant. Our students gain a solid understanding of in-flight service, safety and emergency procedures, and the day-to-day responsibilities of the role — all of which helps them perform successfully in the exams during the recruitment process. We also provide guidance on the recruitment process — tailored to meet the current expectations of airlines.
Our students benefit from:
- Practical interview preparation
- Support with online assessments
- One-to-one career advice is provided, along with continued support after the course. Some of our graduates secure a job by the end of the course, while others may delay applying to airlines due to personal reasons or existing job commitments. We offer a refresher course — free of charge — with one of the new groups, to help them rebuild confidence and ensure they are fully prepared for their job applications.
- Mentorship from experienced cabin crew professionals
Why do our graduates succeed?
Because by the time they reach the recruitment stage, they’re confident, well-prepared, and fully equipped to succeed. They know how to shine during online assessments and in-person interviews. And when the pressure mounts — particularly during airline-provided training and exams — they have the knowledge and resilience to perform at their best.
We’re not claiming to be the best. But our expert instructors, with years of experience in both commercial and corporate aviation, have helped hundreds of students launch their cabin crew careers. They’ve been where you want to go — and they know how to help you get there.
If your applications haven’t been successful so far, don’t worry — with the right preparation, your dream cabin crew career could be just around the corner!
