LWA’s friendly team of experienced language tutors are here to make your adventure into the world of languages one to remember with our Crash Foreign Languages courses. Learning a foreign language can be daunting but you don’t have to struggle or be overwhelmed by how to say hello, talk about yourself and others or order in a café, bar or restaurant. Our experienced teachers will be with you at every step and make sure you are not left for words.

The courses focus on the lingua franca of realistic situations, helping students have the confidence to ask for directions, establish cross-cultural acquaintances, and acquire a taste for local cuisines. Students are encouraged to practice languages in a varied option of everyday life topics. The courses focus on the 4 abilities or skills of a learner: writing, reading, listening and speaking.

The Crash Foreign Languages courses designed for those who want to learn Foreign language (French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish) fast to expand knowledge of the chosen language and culture.

The 600-minute lessons strive to see complete beginners transformed into comfortable employers of vocabulary and grammar, with a firm handle on reading and writing as well as functional chitter chatter.

The syllabus aims to provide useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials. As well as encouraging participants to practise the language to help build confidence and develop fluency, the course will also focus on aspects of grammar and writing skills. The actual programme content will be determined by the level, and to some extent the interests of the group as a whole.

During this Crash Foreign Languages course you will also experience a fascinating cultural event at the Academy when you could invite your friends.

How you will learn?
The course covers the four skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing), with emphasis on speaking and correct pronunciation. During the course there will be opportunities for you and your tutor to monitor your achievements through activities including questions & answers, group discussion, pair and group work, pronunciation drills, role-plays and listening and written activities. Learners are given homework tasks and also a list of additional resources that can help them to give focus to their independent study.

1. Greetings
2. Buy items in shops – talk about quantities and prices
3. Order food and drinks – food items and typical dishes
4. Buy tickets – enquire about departure/arrival times
5. Numbers – 0 to 100+, understand and tell the time
6. Family – relations, marital status and physical descriptions

Do I need a book for a language course?

Yes, you will need a course book to fully participate in the lessons and take the most out of your learning. The course book is compulsory for all  students.

French: Le Nouveau Taxi!: Livre De L’eleve 1, ISBN: 978-2011555489 is used by Beginners 1,2 and 3 levels.
Spanish: Ele Actual A1 ISBN: 978-846 755 1815 is used by Beginner 1, Beginner 2 and Beginner 3.
