Dental Nursing NEBDN Diploma Level 3 qualification with National Examining Board for Dental Nurses  (NEBDN) Diploma Level 3, is designed to improve your career opportunities for professional development. The Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing is a nationally recognised qualification. Successful completion will enable you to register as a Dental Care Professional with the General Dental Council (GDC) and practice as a qualified Dental Nurse.

The curriculum is based on the GDC (General Dental Council) registration requirements for dental nurses.  It sets out the knowledge, skills and behavioural requirements that should be developed and demonstrated.  These are set out in terms of professional competencies, with the assessment method clearly outlined (e.g. how the skills and knowledge will be assessed in the final examinations – via written questions such as multiple choice (MCQ) or extended matching questions (EMQ) or via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – OSCEs). How will you learn? The course is based on 1 year part time (once a week, 2 hours) class based studies and a minimum of 16 hours per week practical experience, which involves working at a dental surgery.  This is a paid job, unless you would like to work voluntary for personal reasons. LWA will also provide a Reference letter to the employee in case if learner finds a job independently.

Earn while you learn could be another benefit for doing this course. We provide a list of Private Surgeries who have been working with us for the last 10 years and looking for more Trainee Dental Nurses so learners can contact them as a registered student at the Academy.

What Can You Expect to Earn as a Dental Nurse? 
Compared to other caring professions, Dental nursing is well paid and offers plenty of opportunity for continued training and development. This is great for those looking on a the long-term plan for their career and those who wish to work their way up the ladder through continued learning, experience & hard work. A standard working week a trainee dental nurse salary will be around £16,000 per annum. However, many qualified dental nurses earn between £19,00 and £28,000.

Will you be eligible for discounted travel student card? Yes, being on this course you are eligible to a discounted oyster card. Once your details processed through LWA ADMIN system, we will provide you with unique student’s number so you could apply online tfl.gov

Any workshops or exam preparation? Academy offers 4 revision and mock test sessions prior  to the written examination and 3 hour preparation session for OSCE’s examination.

When are the exams?
There are two exams:
1. Multiple choice theory exam. November and March.

Record of Experience (eROE)
To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam. Please click here for more information

Dental Nursing course with National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Diploma Level 3 is done on a part-time basis which is enabling student to work part or full-time during their course.

The Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing The Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing is a nationally recognised qualification, successful completion will enable you to register as a Dental Care Professional with the General Dental Council (GDC) and practice as a qualified Dental Nurse.

We have small groups  so candidates can participate with ease and benefit from help with their Records of Experience, lectures supported by multi-media equipment, in-class demonstrations, training videos, regular revision exercises and feedback. We cover all areas of the National Diploma in Dental Nursing exams (National Examining Board for Dental Nurses).

The skills you will gain upon completion of the qualification are described within the extensive curriculum under the domains of Clinical, Communication, Professionalism and Management and Leadership.

The qualification comprises of a formative workplace assessment, the Record of Experience, which enables the workplace team to become an integral part of the training of the trainee dental nurse.

Entry Requirements:
Work placement
English Language at B2 (CEFR) level or above

The students without work placement will be offered a conditional enrolment and given 3 months to find a practical placement. During this period, they will attend an Introduction to Dental Nursing course and workshops on CV writing, interview skills, GDC standards and basic knowledge of infection control, charting, dental instruments and materials, including mixing etc. to be prepared for employment.

After 3 months (with condition on having a work placement) they will progress and enrol onto the actual NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing course and be registered with the awarding body.

In case of failure to find a work placement within the 3 month period, the student will be offered the following:
1. Repeat another 3 months of the introduction course (free of charge)
2. The student can postpone their course for up to six months and resume payment once the restart their studies
