Train the Trainer or Essential Training Skills course is designed to give the fundamental skills and disciplines to delegates who wish to take on a training role within their organisation.
This Essential Teaching Training programme encompasses both the technical knowledge and behavioural awareness to enable you to deliver effective training sessions and inspiring presentations.
Delegates on this course will understand and practice the key disciplines of a professional trainer to maximise learning for adults to reach their full potential. This programme will give you confidence to employ questioning and facilitation techniques and to competently de escalate challenging behaviour in the training arena.
Our 3 day course will give you an insight into adult learning styles, effective communication in the classroom and assertiveness training. You will also explore the importance of creating a conducive learning environment, how to structure a session plan within course design and the pivotal skill of giving and receiving meaningful feedback.

Trainer Skills – To identify personal learning styles.
Questioning Techniques – Types of questions used and their relevance in training.
Feedback – To explore how and when to use feedback and introduce JOHARI’s Window theory.
Instructions and preparation time for delegate’s 1st presentation. (1 hour)
DAY 2
Practical Delivery Session – Delegates deliver their 1st presentation
Creating a Learning Environment – Structure of a training session and use of visual aids.
Assertiveness – To differentiate between assertive and aggressive behaviour exploring strategies for dealing assertively in challenging situations.
Assertiveness Practical – To practice assertive behaviour through role play in realistic scenarios.
Communication Skills – How to communicate effectively as trainers.
Instructions and preparation for delegates 2nd presentation.
Day 3
Practical Delivery Session – Delegates to deliver their 2nd presentation.
Facilitation Skills – Theory of Facilitation and its use in training.
Facilitation Practical – Volunteer delegate to facilitate a topic with group feedback.
Managing Behaviours – How to manage and resolve challenging behaviours in the learning environment.
One to One Reviews – Individual progress and feedback.
