Meditation
Meditation course has been introduced during Virtual Learning Marathon at a time of lockdown, and since then we receive many enquiries to continue this programme. Our colleague, Health and Social Care professional, has developed this course further. We are thrilled to introduce this training to those who are willing to learn more about meditation and to restore:

Week 1: Meditation, what is it? It is being at peace with yourself, to become familiar with your thoughts

  • Meditation teaches you how to become familiar with yourself; it allows you to be in touch with your body and enable you to become aware of your emotions and thoughts and learn to feel calmer, more centred and more focussed. Meditation allows you to see your problems and teaches you how to let go of your thoughts and emotions and bring you into the current moment.
  • You will learn about the brain, how both hemispheres of the brain work in a meditative state and how to use your thoughts more effectively and coherently to change your life.
  • This lesson will focus on understanding the concept of meditation, help you recognise the importance of breathing and introduce you to two breathing /meditation practices.

Week 2: Brain waves and their importance in meditation

  • You will learn about the different levels of brain waves in meditation.
  • You will gain a greater understanding of the fundamentals of gratitude.
  • You will learn about the senses and the role they play in meditation.
  • You will use breathing exercises to scan the body with a full, guided meditation.

Week 3: Mindfulness

  • As a society we tend to value individual wealth and our outward surroundings and successes, without recognising the value of our inner self. In this lesson you will learn the importance of going inwards and the benefits you can reap and enjoy in your daily life form becoming mindful of the present moment. You will be guided in doing a meditation on nature.

Week 4: Introduction to the chakras

  • You will be given an introduction of the chakras followed by a guided meditation session on blessing these energy centres in the body.

Week 5: Introduction to Tapping

  • In this lesson you will learn how to tap areas of the body to release energy. This will be followed by a guided meditation.

Week 6: Mental movie technique

  • You will start this lesson with a breathing exercise which will be followed by using a technique called the ‘3 scenes technique’ to develop whatever you want in your life e.g. losing weight, becoming more proficient in your job, changing a habit etc.
