Trainee Dental Nurses are also helping with dental hygiene.  It is vital to look after your own teeth as well as a patients’.  After all, your healthy teeth and a bright smile is a part of your dental career!

Please see below Best Tips for a Healthy Teeth:

  1. Use fluoridated toothpaste. Fluoride helps to harden tooth enamel and reduces your risk of decay. Choose a toothbrush with a small head for better access to back teeth.
  2. Brush your teeth at least twice a day, morning & evening. Tooth brushing should take between two and three minutes. DO NOT go to bed without brushing your teeth. Brush your tongue, the plaque also builds up on your tongue.
  3. Floss your teeth daily and use interproximal brushes to clean between your teeth.
  4. Drink water after your meal. It can help wash out some of the negative effects of sticky and acidic foods and beverages in between brushes.
  5. Eat healthy. Calcium-rich foods, such as eggs, low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt and cheese, fortified soy drinks and tofu, salmon, almonds, dark green leafy veggies, nut’s, beans help to promote strong teeth and bones.
