Ask rather than assume
The best question is the one no one asked yet. Quite often we are not confident enough to ask the question, and we do not realise that assuming could lead us to the wrong direction. Please see below a few most common examples of such action:
- Ordering from the menu something we don’t like (as it was written on different language)
- Missing the deadline (by assuming that there is still enough time)
- Getting off the wrong station/bus stop (assuming that it’s very near by the place you are going to)
- Using wrong ingredients in a recipe
- Assuming that you understood the learning subject and so on…
By asking a question (depends on a circumstances), you will get clarity and even gain more confidence.
Assumption can not only confuse but mislead our opinion about people. Many of us judge ‘by the book cover’ and only by asking you can discover that ‘not attractive person’ could be a doctor/solicitor/teacher/scientist etc.. when the ‘nice looking person’ could be someone complete opposite…
It is vital to ask questions during studies!! Don’t be shy to ask your tutor a question.
Let’s start asking a questions and communicate more!
